Maintenance

  Here are some items we address after being awarded a contract:

  • We inspect the irrigation system for leaks, coverage, safety hazards, and problem areas such as poor drainage and timer capabilities to name a few. (If the irrigation is weak there will always be problems) We submit a proposal to fix those problems.
  • We identify tree hazards such as roof clearance, pedestrian clearance, exposed tree roots, and etc. a proposal is submitted to address those problems.
  • Your concerns and preferences are implemented
  • A Landscape maintenance agreement addresses our policies, etc.
  • On-going communication by cell phones, E-mails, etc.
  • Identifying methods to improve curb appeal
  • We offer reduced rates on landscape materials that purchased in bulk form

 Trees:

  • Low hanging branches are clipped accordingly
  • Any branch that requires chainsaws, or tall ladders are handled by our J & H Trees, Inc. division
  • Tree stakes can be monitored accordingly.
  • We also can provide non-fruit bearing application on those messy trees by calling our tree division.

  Personnel:

  • Are identifiable by Company uniform and name
  • Crew leaders are to be contacted for on-site simple concerns. Otherwise call the office for anything else
  • Emergency concerns can be directed through crew leaders, as well as through our office

 Shrubs:

  • Shrubs are trimmed, hedged, pruned or thinned-out depending on the season and time of the year
  • Talk with us if you have any preferences
  • Shrubs over 6 ft. tall are hedged with extended power-hedgers
  • Removals are handled by our J & H Trees, Inc. division

  Bark or Humus Top-dressing in beds:

  • Bark areas are generally not raked but we use blowers
  • Humus areas can be hula-hoed and raked
  • Our landscape division can replenish top-dressings, trees, and shrubs upon request

  Equipment:

  • We utilize state-of-the-art mowing equipment, such as:
  • John Deere 60 inch mulching mower
  • X-Mark 53” mulching mower
  • Kubota 50” mower
  • 48” bagging ride-on mower
  • 26” and 22” rear bagging and mulching walk-behind mowers
  • Power hedgers, string trimmers, backpack blowers and 15 horsepower push blowers for blowing large areas
  • Our mulching mowers keep your grass areas green


  Lawn Care:

  • We are licensed with a State Q.A.C.12982 certificate to apply pre and post-emergents, and fertilizers.
  • Annual renovation of lawn areas save you money because:
  • 1. Spray lawn areas in the fall with the appropriate spray to get rid of weeds,
  • 2. Dethatch, or aerate,
  • 3. Mow short and over seeded with perennial ryegrass, or tall fescue
  • Our mulching mowers keep your lawn green the natural way.

  Weed Control:

  • Pre-emergents are applied up to 3 times per year to control most weeds in lawn and planter beds.
  • Post-emergents are used only on hard to control weeds.
  • Mechanical methods are also used as needed.
